I’m giving three stars because of our mixed experience staying at the QT twice in February. We enjoyed our first stay. The room was nice - very clean. Double sinks in the enormous bathroom were great. The hotel staff were very helpful. For our second stay, we were put in room #120. It was a bigger room with a smaller bathroom - only one sink. That’s okay. The black tile in the shower however was covered in a white something - perhaps soap scum? It should have been cleaned. The entire room is decorated in wall mirrors - even the bathroom. (I don’t need mirrored walls next to the toilet) The worst part was the smell. After we questioned a front desk staff member about the (loud) periodic blast of scented spray from a device, he admitted that the room had a sewer problem. The spray was to cover it up. It wasn’t doing that. No offer to move us, or reduce the price of the room (which was more expensive than our first stay) was made. By this point we’d already gotten settled, and we didn’t plan on being in the room much anyway. We told the front desk staff about our disappointment in the room at check out. It’s a great hotel. Wonderful service. Such interesting artwork everywhere. They just shouldn’t put guests in #120 until the sewer problem is fixed. And maybe change the mirrored decor.

I stayed here recently for a business trip, and the location is absolutely unbeatable. It’s easily one of the most unique hotels in town, with a fantastic, quirky ambience that makes it stand out from your typical corporate stay. The overall vibe of the place really adds something special to a work visit. The service was good, and the rooms themselves were comfortable and well-appointed. However, I did notice one area for improvement regarding room maintenance. A few of the toiletries hadn't been replaced from the previous guest's stay. It didn't ruin the experience, but I’d suggest the housekeeping team double-check that everything is refreshed during the room service rotation. Overall, it's a great choice if you're looking for character and a central spot in Wellington. With just a little more attention to those small details in the bathroom, it would be perfect.

We booked here last minute, and found that our room had a bed with absolutely no support. It was so floppy that it was intensely painful on our backs to lie down on top of the bed covers for just a couple minutes. This was only half an hour after we checked in in the afternoon, so we called down to the office and they told us that the beds are like that but that theyd send us a board to put underneath to give it some support. They never came up with it, so we went down to get it. They then told us they dont have the board anymore (?) and that all their beds are like that so we can take it or leave it. We asked if they could cancel and refund our booking because we had not touched anything in the room except for the top of the covers, and they were unable to provide a decent bed. At this point the manager contradicted what he had said two seconds before and told us that he'd just get us to try a different room, because all the bess are different. We asked how they were different because he had just told us himself that they were all the same brand and firmness, and he said that maybe there were differences in the manufacturing tolerances, which was absolutely a lie. We asked for a refund and he said he would if he could but he couldnt, at which point we asked why and he "went back to check with IT", which included him going back and sitting alone in a visibly empty office for 3 minutes. Then he came out and said that it wasn't possible because we booked through expedia, so we pointed out that it would be easy for him to cancel without refunding admin fees, which he had no answer for and simply said he would not do it. All in all, the beds in this place are all bad as admitted by the manager himself, and if there is a problem you will get openly lied to for about an hour without any sign of resolution or customer service. I really truly recommend steering clear of this place. You could stay anywhere else and expect both less back pain and btter customer service.

Room had an awful bed that lacked back support. Called the service desk but there was nothing much they did. There is no study table to work in the room. Very cheeky and annoying that they charge for plain water provided. I can understand charging for sparkling water. The staff during check in was welcoming but the staff at the checkout was very rude. and unfriendly. Location is great as it it close to many bars and restaurants.

Spent 2 nights, Dec 25&26th, in a Harbour view room. Room 436, was light bright and stylish. Plenty of space, with comfy chair & side table and a desk set up. The room and balcony artwork was amazing. Great view and balcony. Awesome bathroom with large tub and great amenities including super soft robes, Dyson hairdryer even bath salts for the huge tub. All the staff we met were great as was the food we sampled. I had some trepidation after reading some reviews but it was just great and the hotels art collection is amazing. I am looking forward to my next stay.
